Hulu to Bring a Far Cry TV Show from the Producers of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The newest action-packed game that gamers dived into was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and debuted back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for embracing action and insanity with the same excitement, all while presenting engaging, ideologically themed tales. It’s no surprise that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two producers whose projects have represented all of those qualities.

What to Expect

Based on Ubisoft's hit video game property, the limited anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' style by featuring a new backdrop and cast of characters in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as showrunners on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared magnificent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to thank our associates at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this beloved property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what character that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the showrunner.

“Being able to collaborate with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly accommodating, placing faith in us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners always encourages me with their constant confidence and backing.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an standalone series. Each game is a variation of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a version on a story,” noted Hawley. “To create a large-scale action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the core of humanity through this intricate and chaotic viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m eager to collaborate with Rob and bring our mutual irreverent, visionary style to the screen.”

A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
